On Saturday, we attended the breeding show for foals at Lipica Stud Farm, where we presented four foals – three bred by Barbana Lipizzans and the filly Slavina, owned by Mr. McDonald.
🤍 MAESTOSO CANISSA Born: 11 May 2026 Dam: 126 Canissa IV Sire: 433 Maestoso Batosta XII
Maestoso Canissa received a score of 7.7 points and achieved an excellent 3rd place! 🥉
🤍 MAESTOSO THAIS Born: 2 April 2026 Dam: 105 Thais XXIII Sire: 433 Maestoso Batosta XII
His dam, Thais XXIII, was crowned Champion and Best Lipizzaner in Topoľčianky in 2021. Maestoso Thais received a very good score of 7.6 points.
🤍 MAESTOSO BARBANA Born: 11 May 2026 Dam: 576 Barbana VII Sire: 433 Maestoso Batosta XII
His story is a little different and especially emotional for us. ❤️
At the show, he was presented alongside 715 Thais IV, who became his foster mother. Sadly, his mother Barbana crossed the rainbow bridge far too soon 🌈, leaving behind Maestoso at only three and a half months old.
Fortunately, we are blessed with wonderful mares in our herd. Thais accepted him as her own and today she takes care of and protects him just like her own foal. ❤️
Maestoso Barbana received a score of 7.5 points.
🤍 SLAVINA
Among the fillies, Slavina was presented, and her proud owner was delighted with an excellent 3rd place! 🥉
Dam: 053 Slavina XI Sire: 548 Pluto Famosa V
Her pedigree also carries a very special piece of Lipizzaner history. Her grandsire is the world-famous 058 Maestoso Monteaura, who competed at the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles, becoming the first Lipizzaner to compete at such a major international event.
Slavina received a score of 7.5 points.
✨ We are extremely proud of all four foals. They presented themselves beautifully and reflected the work, breeding and care we dedicate to our horses throughout the year.
Of course, such a presentation would not be possible without the people who make sure our horses enter the ring looking their very best.
A big thank you to Neža Podpečan and the entire grooming team for all your help! ❤️🐴
📣 All three of this year’s foals bred by Barbana Lipizzans are available for sale.
