This year I also attended the seminar for judges in Romania, organized by the Lipizzan International Federation (LIF) at the Beclean Stud Farm from October 12 to 13. This stud farm is known for breeding dark Lipizzaner horses. On the first day, we evaluated broodmares, and on the second day, we evaluated breeding stallions. Since the horses from this stud differ somewhat from Slovenian Lipizzaners, all participants gained a lot of new knowledge in evaluating the type. Mentor Dr. Nidal Korabi, who is also the General Secretary at LIF, provided expert explanations on how to evaluated horses, identify faults, and reward the good qualities of a horse. The knowledge I gained will contribute to the breeding efforts of our small farm stud – Barbana Lipizzans!
