On Saturday, we took 5 mares with foals to the Lipica Stud Breeding Show of Lipizzan horses, and 1 mare for entry into the Stud Book.
This year, Mother Nature blessed us with 5 female foals, which is a wonderful opportunity for breeders to select fillies for future breeding. After many years, we were especially happy to welcome a filly from our mare Barbana, who will remain at home for breeding purposes.
At the show, our foal Monteaura won first place, receiving the highest score of the day (8.4 points) and becoming the best-evaluated foal of the day—a particularly special result, as she is the last foal from 288 Monteaura X.
2nd place: foal Thais, daughter of 105 Thais XXIII, champion in Topoľčianky 2021, with 8.2 points
3rd place: foal Canissa, daughter of 126 Canissa IV, whose brother was the best-evaluated foal of 2024, with 8.0 points
4th place: foal Thais, daughter of 715 Thais IV, with 7.9 points
5th place: foal Barbana, daughter of 576 Barbana VII, with 7.7 points
All our successful young mares are descendants of the Lipica stallion 433 Maestoso Batosta XII.
A truly special moment was also experienced with mare 218 Lipica XX, born in 2021 (mother 233 Lipica IV, father 363 Siglavy Samira XXII). She was presented for Stud Book entry, received the highest score of the day, and became the best-evaluated mare of the day. In addition, she successfully completed the work ability test in a carriage, where she also impressed the judges.
🇩🇪 On the same day, in Germany, a 4-year-old stallion, Siglavy Barbana (mother 576 Barbana VII, father 363 Siglavy XXII), born in our stable, was evaluated. He received a license as a breeding stallion, an outstanding achievement for his owner, Sara Gaus.
Meanwhile, the second team of Barbana Lipizzans successfully conducted a wedding carriage ride with a 4-horse team—it is truly remarkable to have people we can trust with such responsible and important work.
We are sincerely happy and proud of our horses and of the team that supports us. Thank you to everyone who made this day possible!
